Activity #1: Running

9. Luka Koper Istrski maraton

In 2023, I ran 1540 kilometers, which took me 174 hours. I participated in 12 running events, one of them was a full marathon:

  • 15. Pomladni tek Jesenice, Jesenice, 18. 3. 2023. For a fairly flat 10 kilometers, I need 47:26.8 which is 4:45 minutes per kilometer (12,65 kilometers per hour). I was 7th among women and 3rd in my age category.

  • 16. Tek po ulicah Tržiča, Tržič, 25. 3. 2023. The women ran 5 kilometers, which was 3 laps around the streets of Tržič. The rainy weather did not make the twists and turns, short climbs, and descents any easier. With a time of 23:38.3 (4:44 minutes per kilometer), I was 4th among women and 2nd in my category.

  • 9. Luka Koper Istrski maraton, Izola, 16. 4. 2023. The race I have been working for during winter - 42 kilometers. Flat 19 kilometers and 4 ascents and descents in the second part of the race, which combined into 335 meters of elevation gain. I finished the course at 4:09:38 (5:55 minutes per kilometer) and placed 25th among women and surprisingly 4th in my age category.

  • 65. Pohod in tek trojk, Ljubljana, 6. 5. 2023. A flat road and hilly trail route totaling 30 kilometers with 300 vertical meters. Running in a group is particularly challenging, as it is harder to run slower than your legs would allow after two hours of running. At the same time, it is not easy to find two other runners in roughly the same shape, who will not be taking part in another running event on the same weekend, and who would like to take on a longer challenge. Because of all these circumstances, the three of us only found each other on the last day and checked in that evening. We called ourselves Last Minute and finished the course in 2:56:33 (Strava).

  • 17. Nočna 10ka, Bled, 13. 5. 2023. I ran a 10-kilometer race in 0:47:42 which was fast enough for the 23rd place among women and 9th place in my age category. I am grateful that I could run for Conditus and represent them in their sports shirt.

  • 17. DM tek za ženske, Ljubljana, 27. 5. 2023. Officially a 10-kilometre race (measured 9 kilometers) on the hilly Rožnik with 150 metres of climbing. It took me 0:43:36 which was good enough for the 21st place overall and 10th place in my age category.

  • 34. Mošenjski tek, Mošnje, 10. 6. 2023. I'm more of a morning runner and didn't like that this event started in the evening. Also, I didn't feel well the whole day before the race, even had a feeling I wouldn't be able to start. Despite that, I defeated 8 kilometers with 100 meters of elevation gain in 38:44.1 (4:51 minutes per kilometer). I was 13th among women and 4th in my category.

  • 11. Radol'ška 10ka, Radovljica, 23. 6. 2023. The downpour a few hours before the start significantly reduced the participation of runners. The rest of us set off on a 10-kilometer race through the old part of the city. Ten laps on wet ground and with sharp bends required constant acceleration and a dying pace, so I was pretty happy when I reached the finish. I finished in 48:01.5 (4:48 minutes per kilometer), which was good enough for 14th place among women and third place in the category.

  • 29. Kranjskogorska 10ka, Kranjska Gora, 15. 8. 2023. The 10-kilometer run is mainly on a cycle track: five kilometers one way and five kilometers the other. The conditions were almost ideal, except for some wind. With a time of 47:37.2 (4:46 minutes per kilometer), I came tenth among the women and sixth in the category.

  • 3. Lubnik trail, Škofja Loka, 7. 10. 2023. Almost 14 kilometers on trail routes with 859 vertical meters of ascent and descent were a tough test for my first trail (mountain) run. Health problems did not help me to reach the finish line any faster. Even at the start, I was afraid I would be too slow for the so-called broomstick, which was after two and a half hours. I arrived at the finish in 2:14:46.65 (9:42 minutes per kilometer), mostly happy that it was over. Fourteenth place among women and sixth in the category.

  • Volkswagen 27. Ljubljanski maraton, Ljubljana, 22. 10. 2023. My seventh participation in the Ljubljana Marathon. I have already written about my previous experiences. I have a few comments about the organization, which I have also read on social media from other participants. But it is a special charm to meet people you know in such a crowd. Because of the crowds, I spent 20 minutes chatting with my partner and a fellow runner instead of warming up. I ran the familiar 21-kilometer course in a net time of 1:53:15 and a gross time of 1:54:24. I was running for the sports and cultural association Modrin.

  • 20. Miklavžev tek, Snovik, 3. 12. 2023. As I was waiting for the start of the race, I calculated how many days were until spring. I was not made for cold and didn't even feel like running. For 5,3 kilometers with 300 m elevation gain, I needed 38:03.2 (7:11 minutes per kilometer). I was 35th among women and 10th in my age category. This was the 9th event of Gorenjska, moj planet. I was second in my age category and fourth among women. Not a bad running season.



Activity #2: Cycling

I cycled 3033 kilometers on my road bike from March to October which took me 118 hours. I participated in two events and actually opened the road cycling season with a friendly competition and almost closed it the same way:

  • Borotalco 4. Gran Fondo Portorose, Portorož, 26. 3. 2023. I rode with my partner for most of the race. We rode 68 kilometers with 785 meters of climbing and descending. It took us 1:50:29 to complete the timed ride, not counting the neutral ride. With this time, I finished 7th overall among women and 3rd in the 31-50 age category. It was a pleasant surprise for the first ride of the season when I didn't even feel comfortable on the bike yet.

  • 12. Bike Festival Portorož, Portorož, 1. 10. 2023. The event had no official time measurement. In the company of two friends, we covered 126 kilometers in four hours at an average speed of 31.4 kilometers per hour. Not bad for 900 meters of ascent and descent.


I'm still commuting from the car park to my workplace. I rode 777 kilometers which took me 43 hours. Too bad I cannot change it into vacation days. The year started with a public bike BicikeLJ (374 kilometers) but at the end of May, I bought the BTWIN Fold 500 (403 kilometers) which has become my office roommate.


I spent 9 hours and 40 minutes on my not-smart trainer watching TV series and 6 and a half hours on the new Smart Trainer Tacx FLUX 2. I have to admit that it's easier to motivate myself to use the latter. it comes in handy on rainy days, but I still prioritize outdoor activities.


Outdoor cycling (3811 kilometers, 161 hours) + indoor cycling (441 kilometers, 17 hours) = 4252 kilometers and 178 hours



Activity #3: Other outdoor

Like years before, I rarely record walking, even though it varies from a few kilometers to more than 10. I mostly record it when I'm on vacation, so I can "save" the trip. I went on a hike only five times. There is nothing wrong if I try to up that number for next year.



Activity #4: Other indoor

I've spent 31 hours doing indoor activities that are not related to cycling. I achieved my goal of spending more time on Pilates, strength, mobility, and core training than I did in 2022. I worked out at home and with a teacher from Peti element.
