Low carb pizza

Do you want to make pizza crust without flour? It's perfect for those who want to try LCHF or keto diet/lifestyle.



Everyone loves pizza! I don't know anyone who wouldn't like it. My boyfriend makes the best homemade pizza, including the crust with flour. We decided to make two pizzas - one regular for him and one keto-friendly for me. I think we did a great job.



Low-carb pizza crust


Ingredients

We decided to make the crust with the ingredients we had at home because we didn't use them for months. Next time we'll use a different mix. The following amount is for one hungry person. It would be enough for two people as well. Today, we used:

  • two whole eggs,

  • approximately 30 grams of mixed unsalted nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, cashews)

  • about 30 grams of coconut flour,

  • 15 grams of mozzarella cheese and

  • 15 grams of Edam cheese.

Be careful with the amount of coconut as it has lots of taste. Next time we'll only use eggs, cheese, and mixed almonds (almond flour) because I like coconut flavor more in the deserts. My boyfriend tried the keto pizza, and as he loves coconuts, he liked the taste even in a pizza.



Steps

It's easy to make low-carb pizza:

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 °C.

  2. In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients.

  3. Put parchment paper into a bowl with edges. I used a glass bowl, but a pie pan would be better. I don't have it (yet).

  4. Pour the mixture into the bowl and spread it evenly.

  5. Bake for approximately 10 minutes until it turns light brown, and you can see the crust at the top.

  6. Take the bowl out from the oven and wait a few minutes to cool down, as it's easier to put on the toppings.

  7. Add the toppings the same as you would add them on the regular pizza. Keep in mind that the keto-friendly pizza is more filling than regular ones.

  8. Bake for another 10 minutes.
